PSD3: How European Regulations Are Evolving to Strengthen Security and Trust in Payments
The upcoming PSD3 represents a significant shift in the evolution of the European payments system. Beyond being a new regulatory update, this directive proposes a fundamental transformation in key areas such as fraud protection, more balanced access for the various stakeholders in the ecosystem, and the creation of a more uniform and competitive payments market. In a context marked by the growth of digital payments, social engineering, and new forms of fraud, the regulation aims to strengthen the trust of users, financial institutions, and payment service providers. Among its main objectives are improving prevention mechanisms, moving toward greater shared responsibility, and providing a clearer and more uniform framework for operating in the European market. For Diusframi, with over 35 years of experience in the field of payment methods, this regulatory evolution has a direct impact. Our business is closely linked to payment infrastructure management, merchant operations, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution; therefore, PSD3 not only introduces new requirements but also presents an opportunity to continue adding value in an increasingly demanding environment. In this vein, our colleague Borja Alameda González-Zarauz, Director of Operations, Risk & Customer Experience, analyzes the key aspects of this new regulatory phase and its impact on the European payments ecosystem in an op-ed published in elEconomista. STAMP: A New Way to Prevent Fraud and Manage Disputes in Digital Payments
Diusframi is launching STAMP, an R&D initiative that applies AI and machine learning to prevent fraud in real time and manage dispute resolution for digital payments. The solution integrates a prevention module (adaptive detection and risk scoring) and a dispute resolution module using generative AI (recommended reason and probability of success), which directly reduces fraud and optimizes processing times. Project Objective: To design and implement an AI/ML-based platform to prevent fraud in real time and optimize dispute management, featuring a modular architecture, open APIs, and interoperability with banks, acquirers, and fintech companies, in alignment with frameworks such as PSD2 and the future digital euro. What’s Included? Fraud Prevention Module: predictive models that analyze transactions and halt anomalous operations before risks materialize, covering both card transactions and transfers and instant payments. Generative AI Dispute Module: recommendations on the grounds for claims and probability of success based on regulations and historical cases, to resolve disputes more quickly and efficiently. Expected Results: Substantial reduction in operational fraud through adaptive detection; Streamlined dispute resolution thanks to intelligent automation.   Project Details Title: STAMP Project – Development of Advanced Solutions for Fraud Prevention and Digital Dispute Management in Payment Methods File No.: EXP 00176441 / TIC‑20250130 Duration: June 2, 2025 – November 30, 2026 Funding: Project funded by the CDTI (Center for Technological Development and Innovation).

Diusframi to Participate in the AEECF's 2026 Annual Fraud Conference
Diusframi attended the 2026 Annual Fraud Conference, organized by the Spanish Association of Anti-Fraud Companies (AEECF) and held on June 11 at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. The event is the premier gathering for Spain’s anti-fraud ecosystem and brought together professionals from financial institutions, technology firms, and the legal and regulatory sectors to discuss current and future challenges in this field. An agenda focused on the challenges of digital fraud The day began with a presentation by María Gutiérrez, a cybersecurity expert at NTT Data, who addressed the impact of quantum computing on the fight against fraud and the concept of quantum sovereignty as a new strategic focus for organizations. This was followed by a roundtable discussion featuring representatives from N26, Ibercaja, and Digi, who explored how artificial intelligence is responding to the rise in financial fraud through real-world implementation cases. The discussion highlighted both the current capabilities of AI and its operational limitations. The final segment of the day included a presentation on the legal implications of cyberfraud—risks, challenges, and liabilities—by Pedro Fernández-Villamea of the ICAM Advisory Board, along with the first findings from the 2026 Corporate Fraud Report, which point to a threat landscape that is growing and becoming increasingly sophisticated. Active Presence in the Anti-Fraud Ecosystem Diusframi’s participation in this conference is part of its commitment to the secure payments ecosystem. Throughout the session, the following topics—among others—were addressed: 1) AI and Business Management: Agustín Rodríguez (CEO, Ubimia) discussed the challenges of transforming teams, structures, and business models when AI ceases to be an experiment and becomes a management lever. 2) From Talk to Results: AI and the Income Statement—Fran Balboa (CEO, Logixs Digital) focused his presentation on how to implement AI that truly transforms EBITDA by prioritizing execution. 3) The Last Mile: Where Value Is Gained (or Lost): Ergin Kamberov (CEO, Embermind Technologies) addressed the critical moment of transitioning from pilot to full-scale operation, where process design, integration, and adoption determine the return on investment. 4) Diusframi: AI as a Competitive Advantage (Real-World Cases) Diusframi participated with Ignasi Casanova (Director of AI – Diusframi), who shared our vision of AI as a competitive advantage through real-world examples of automation and business impact, in an interview with Ignacio Basagoiti (Alvarez & Marsal). 5) AI as a “Control Layer” and Competitive Advantage in Mobility Pepe Piñera (investor, Saretec board member, Mobius founder) closed the event with a presentation on AI as a new sector-wide control layer and its potential as a competitive advantage in mobility. Networking to Continue the Conversation The event concluded with a networking session, designed so that attendees and speakers could continue the discussion and share implementation experiences, challenges, and lessons learned. Why We Organize These Types of Events At Diusframi, we believe that AI adds value when it translates into measurable processes, decisions, and results. That’s why we promote events that bring together practical experience, strategic vision, and open conversation among professionals.
